These paintings are the REAL DEAL!! They are PAINTED (not PRINTED), and are AUTHENTIC papyrus. Other cheap papyrus-imitations exist, and are marketed as real papyrus, when they are not!
BRIEF HISTORY ON PAPYRUS:
Papyrus paper sheets are one of the oldest materials used for writing. They were used by the Ancient Egyptians since over 7000 years. Papyrus grows along the Nile banks. Its thin reeds are harvested, and then cut into very thin layers. These layers are laid in a crisscross arrangement
(2 layers) and pressed by a heavy object and left to airdry. Once dry, the sheet is ready for use.
