Egyptian Camel woven saddle bag cover, vintage
The weaving was all done by hand. Made of wool and camel hair. It goes over the wooden saddle on the camel. It has large pockets to hold lots of stuff on caravans.
It was bought in Egypt in the late 1970s. I bought from the original owners in 1982.
I have had it over a balustrade and on the floor. Large approx. 8ft. X 3ft. It is thick woven wool. The tassels are mostly woven camel tail hair and other tassels are wool.
It weighs approx. 16 lbs.
It is stunning and can be a conversation piece plus adds color and unique design to any place.
